Excellent piece, James. I’m so glad we had this conversation the other day, even though it still just pisses me off that almost immediately, a certain type of person views your mentorship, or even friendship, as something nefarious.

People are just fucked up, to be honest. There are but so many people willing to be a mentor for kids, teens, etc. don’t look a gift horse in the mouth and make presumptions.

It sounds like you and Fred have become good friends, too and I think that’s wonderful. You’re both lucky to have one another.
