I am notorious for asking ‘where are you from’, and I will say, after reading your article about your driver in Scotland, I have caught myself and try not to now.

I’ve never done it from a place of, oh let me ask because this person has a different skin tone from white. It’s usually because of their accent. I love accents that aren’t American. I’m pretty good at figuring out where a person is from originally based on their accent and I’m vain enough to want to know if I’m correct. I also love culture, in general, so when I meet someone new, especially if I think they aren’t from around here, I want to know where they hail from originally. I enjoy learning about the culture where they grew up.

I’m sure this stems from being raised by world travelers.

I just don’t want to be offensive.

Personally, I just think you’re beautiful. ❤ But more importantly, to me anyway, you’re one of the smartest and most witty people I know. I absolutely love reading everything you write. You make me think, and you make me want to be a better person.

You also make me want to drink scotch, and no one has ever made me want to do that lmao

I think, therefore, I write. ccuthbertauthor@gmail.com /Posts may contain affiliate links.
