Joao, I’ve definitely not forgiven or forgotten my friend.
It’s one of those situations where, honestly, I didn’t know what to do. I had been there before and gotten law enforcement involved and nothing was done, beyond making me feel like I was in the wrong. It doesn’t happen all the time, obviously, but in so many cases, women are made to feel like they have done something wrong in cases such as this. You’re put under a microscope, your life torn apart and judged. It’s utterly ridiculous, and in the end, at least the time I dealt with it before, I was made to feel more like the person who had done something wrong than the aggressor.
That’s why I informed his ex-wife. I felt that at least then, he would not have custody of his children at least and they would no longer be subjected to the shit he apparently felt was okay to put them through.
